Using your flight ticket

Can I use only parts of my itinerary, for example skip the outward flight and only take the return?

No, you cannot only use the return ticket.

According to the IATA regulations (https://www.iata.org/policy/Documents/coupon-use-paper.pdf) a flight ticket can only be used in the sequence it has been issued. This means that in case a passenger misses a flight he/she will not be able to use all the following flight in the same ticket. The airline company will most probably delete the following segment.

For example, if you have booked a return Paris-London-Paris, you cannot use the return journey as a single ticket from London. You must fly Paris-London first to be able to travel back on the ticket from London to Paris. You will not receive any refund on the ticket either. These are the airline’s rules and as a travel agent we cannot influence them.

On the other hand, you can use only the outward ticket and not use the return journey. Despite this, you will not receive any refund for the flight that you missed in this case either."
